    "A Sketch of a Journey from Zhe-Hol in Tartary by land to Pekin and thence by water to Hang-Tchoo-Foo in China"
    This rare map was engraved by B. Braker & Islington and published by George Nicol in 1796 as part of George Staunton's "An Authentic Account of an Embassy from the King of Great Britain to the Emperor of China," Britain's first official embassy to China.
    Very large at 22" (58 cm) x 31.5" (80 cm). Heavy parchment paper. Was originally folded and has been stored that way. Foxing and water damage as shown in photos. A few small tears and folds around the edges.
    A rare antique map of China from the 1700s that displays very well and is an important part of history.
