    Thangka painting on textile. Sino-Tibetan, 20th cent.
    A superb thangka, rich in figural depictions of Buddhas, bodhisattvas, saints and monastic scholars (acaryas). The lower section presents krodha-deities amidst flames, namely Acala with risen sword. Some deities are shown in their multi-armed manifestation and partially in yabyum with their paredra. The center is dominated with a representation of Buddha Gautama Shakyamuni, holding the almsbowl in one hand, the other hand is in the bhumisparsa mudra. Patra and nimbus ornamented by spirals and lines in rainbow colours. Framed.
