This work bears a short inscription, with signature and seal, attributed to Qiu Ying, a famous Ming Dynasty painter.
The composition is referring to the oldest tradition in Chinese landscape painting, known as Blue and Green Shan Shui
青绿山水 and initiated by
Li Sixun during the Tang Dynasty. It is surrounded by six colophons with signatures and seals which I am not able to decipher (I would appreciate any information about them).
By comparing the calligraphy style to that of Qiu Ying's known paintings, one could better evaluate the probability of authenticity of this work.
