    Description

    Two 19th century chinese paintings with original wood frame coated with gesso and
    red paint.  Frame measures 21 5/8 x 17 5/8.
    Medium is gouache & ink on paper & board.
    See photos for signs of staining and buckling.  The backs of both boards are numbered (10, 12) which seem to indicate they were part of a series.  Judging from the style of both painting and frame, I'm dating
    these between 1850 and 1860 but they might be earlier.  Free shipping within U.S.
