This stunning, panoramic Chinese landscape painting of The Great Wall, with morning’s sun rising to illuminate mile after mile of gorgeous mountain range and ancient structure, is exquisitely detailed and expertly composed.
From the InkDance Painting Gallery, whose representative Elaine was kind enough to give me a basic translation for the personalized calligraphy which reads:
“The warriors, with their sharp dagger-knives and equipped warring horses, were the real heroes, who never gave up, even when their goal was unachievable.”
The smaller text states that it was painted in the spring of 2002, and, though not “hand-signed”, the red block print indicates that the artist was a Chen Feng. (Thanks again, Elaine)
The mist pouring in soft rivulets through those valleys, in the new (setting?) sun’s perfect rose glow, I just find so captivating. You can look at this work for a lifetime.
Painted on heavy rice paper, and in scroll form, this as yet unframed original painting is quite large (28X63), and truly impressive.
Piece is in excellent condition, having never been displayed and well protected while stored.
Heirloom worthy.
