LOVE this piece.
I'm not sure what the original purpose was, but there are so many ways it could be used.
I believe it to be celluloid.
It's a very light piece and not much thickness to this lovely item.
When I think of the deco era i always picture a lady with her parrots lolling about on a couch and this is a wonderful artifact from that era.
No damage.
Measures roughly about 1.5 by 1.5 inches (3-4 cm. in diameter).
The last photo is not part of the listing but it's a nice example of a flapper with her parrot.
