Japan Photo Journal: Harvest moon rises behind Yokohama Ferris wheel

The harvest moon is seen radiantly rising in the evening sky behind a Ferris wheel car at the Yokohama Cosmo World amusement park in the city’s Minatomirai district on Sept. 17, 2024. Saturn could be seen right next to the moon, offering viewers a more stunning than usual mid-autumn spectacle. In Japan, the harvest moon falls on Aug. 15 in the old calendar, but this year marked the first in four years that the harvest moon and full moon did not coincide.
